Seeking qualified candidates to join our clinical team at Baptist Medical Center East as a decentralized Emergency Medicine pharmacist. Day shift with rotating schedule encompassing 11 hour shifts and every other weekend coverage. Knowledge of Cerner, Sentri 7 and Insight Rx preferred but not required. Responsbilities include:

  • Provision of medication management services in coordination with other health care professionals to deliver safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy to patients in a high acuity and urgent care environment.
  • Assessment of medication therapy regimens, medication therapy management, medication order verification/entry, medication distribution, medication therapy monitoring, and consultation, documentation of medication therapy plans, and medication use education and pharmaceutical care services
  • Manage pharmacokinetic, anticoagulation and other pharmacy consults from providers
  • Participate in culture review and call back service
  • Management of Code Blue, Code Stroke and Code Sepsis Events
  • Active participation in quality improvement, research activities, and education as described in the job specific competencies
  • Precepting of APPE and IPPE Pharmacy students

Education / Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred. PGY1 residency or 3 or more years of inpatient practice preferred.

License / Certification: Active RPH required, Active Alabama Controlled Substance certification required, BLS /ACLS required, BPS certification preferred, PALS/ NRP within 3 months of hire
